If you're looking for my upcycled, hand-made jewellery made from biscuit tins...you're almost in the right place!
On Tuesday 3rd May 2016, I closed my unique jewellery business, Kate Hamilton-Hunter Studio. Devastating day for me and my 9 lovely members of staff. The jewellery that we made at our studio in Abergele, North Wales, was truly unique. Using biscuit, sweet and cake tins and upcycling them in to Hearts, Butterflies, Leaves, Birds...then putting them on sterling silver findings and chains with beautiful Swarovski crystals and pearls, our jewellery was truly unique and loved by many. We were all heart-broken to close the door but after 12 years of battling, I felt that a small manufacturing company in the UK simply cannot compete with the tidal wave of cheap imports coming from overseas.
Two weeks later, my business was bought out by a couple from Gloucestershire who have re-employed five of my staff and are breathing fresh ideas and energy into my jewellery business; I wish them well and hope that my 12 years of work will continue into the future. If you love my designs, then please support the new owners by buying some jewellery form one of our many stockists or my old website..see the link below.
