Please join me for one of my monthly Yoga Workshops, delving deeper into the vast array of elements that make up a complete yoga practise, inviting other teachers to share their knowledge and sharing tea and home-made sweet things as we connect with each other through yoga. Please note all workshops are Single-Use-Plastic-Free Events. We provide water and glasses or invite you to bring a re-fillable water bottle with you. Once you have booked a workshop, details about what to wear and bring etc will be e-mailed to you. Please book and pay in advance wherever possible to secure your place. Sun. February 18th 2.00pm – 5.00pm Dru Yoga & Laughter Yoga. I first discovered Laughter Yoga at the Zest Fest last summer and I have not forgotten how much my stomach muscles ached and how amazingly upbeat I felt for days afterwards. This session will put a huge smile on our faces as we laugh away tension and worries. We will have an hour’s yoga practise to get us warmed up and ready for the fun to start after light refreshments. Laughter yoga is a new twist on an ancient practice. Not only does it increase happiness, but it also strengthens the immune system, reduces pain and lowers stress. More contagious than a cough or sneeze, laughter relaxes the whole body. It triggers the release of endorphins, promoting an overall sense of well-being. Your teachers will be Kate & Jo Dixon and the cost will be £25.
Sun. March 25th 2.00pm – 5.00pm Spring Detox Workshop. Yoga, Pranayama, Yoga Nidra and Meditation all gearing the body up for moving into Spring. The best time to detox the system is as we change seasons, from the dark days of Winter into the light and warmth of Spring/Summer. We will explore all ways to stimulate the body’s different systems to have an inner Spring Clean. An energising yoga sequence, a few different pranayama practises to cleanse and use at different times of the day, a long relaxation and setting an intention for the new season in meditation. Your teacher will be Kate and the cost will be £20.
Fri. March 30th 6.00pm – 9.00pm Spring Yoga & Gong Bath Workshop. Step into Spring with a joyful yoga practise and then a super long relaxation with the sounds of singing bowls and gongs washing over you to transport you to another place. We will start with an hour's yoga practise and then get comfy!! Steph Healy joins us again for the Gong Bath and Sound Healing experience, this time focussing on the element of WATER as Winter melts into Spring. We hope enough people are around on this Good Friday to come along. A lovely way to move into the Bank Holiday weekend and Easter. Your teachers will be Kate & Stehp Healy and the cost will be £25.
Sat. April 21st 10.00am – 1.00pm Home Practise Workshop. Kick-start your home practise with a whole morning to explore the benefits of creating a sacred space in your home and rolling your mat out, even if it is just for 10 minutes!! You will look at how to fit a practise into your weekly schedule and what yoga to do once you actually roll out your mat! (Also can be used for beginning a meditation practise.) Your teacher will be Kate and the cost will be £20.
Sun. May 20th 2.00pm – 5.00pm Meditation Workshop. If it was easy to meditate, everyone would do it!! The benefits of a regular meditation practise are well researched and documented. But it is not easy! So, in this workshop, we will find out the components to a successful practise and little tricks of the trade to train the Monkey Mind! We will start with some yoga to settle and strengthen the muscles to be able to sit comfortably. We will explore different sitting positions and then move from pranayama into meditation, trying different approaches and techniques. Your teacher will be Kate and the cost will be £20.
Sun. June 17th 2.00pm – 5.00pm Chakra Workshop. We have three hours to explore the Chakra system! Chakras work in the energetic body to direct your PRANA, or life-force and keep all systems of the body in balance. We will look at each of the main chakras and work with our asana practise to stimulate and calm each energy centre before a long relaxation and short meditation. A reading list will be provided if you would like to research this aspect of yoga philosophy further. Your teacher will be Kate and the cost will be £20.
